The underlying thought here is that God wills to have mercy on some sinners, but not on all of them. The book describes great anguish—and great hope—in poetic form. Housing, healthcare, increased pressures on the family due to rising costs of living, unemployment, access to transportation – all of these can be addressed through mercy and/or justice.
